Most recreational adult skiers fall in the 2–8 range. - DIN is standardised under ISO 11088. All certified binding brands use the same scale. - Skier type I = cautious/beginner (lower DIN). Type II = average. Type III = aggressive/advanced (higher DIN). - Boot Sole Length (BSL) is printed on the boot sole in mm. Typical adult range: 255–310 mm. - Suspension sag targets: XC 20–25%, Trail 25–30%, Enduro 30%, DH 30–35%. Values apply to both Fox and RockShox. - Rope retirement (UIAA): never use after severe fall; retire after 1–3 years (weekly use), up to 7–10 years (rarely used). - Pack weight: ≤20% body weight is optimal, ≤25% acceptable, >30% increases injury risk. - eMTB tyre pressure is 3–6 PSI higher than regular MTB due to 20–32 kg bike weight vs 10–14 kg. E-rated tyres required. - Fall factor = fall distance / rope paid out. Ranges 0–2. Higher fall factor = higher impact force. Anchor near belay point reduces FF. - DWR (Durable Water Repellency): reactivate with tumble dryer/iron after washing. Re-treat with spray or wash-in DWR when beading fails. Replace if delamination appears. - AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) Lake Louise Score ≥3 with headache = AMS confirmed. Ascend no faster than 300–500m/day above 3000m. - ACWR safe zone: 0.8–1.3. Above 1.5 = high injury risk. Below 0.8 = detraining. - Units: site auto-detects metric/imperial from browser locale. en-US → imperial, all others → metric. ## Guides - [Ski Boot Size Chart](https://www.dincalculator.com/ski-boot-size-chart-mondopoint-size): Mondopoint to EU/US/UK conversion table. - [Ski Insurance Guide](https://www.dincalculator.com/ski-insurance) - [Ikon Pass Guide](https://www.dincalculator.com/ikon_pass) - [Safety Policy](https://www.dincalculator.com/safety)
